Dental filling is a dental treatment for patients with cavities or chipped teeth. In the case of cavities, the dentist will remove the decayed part of the tooth, clean it, and then fill it with a filling material.
There are 2 types of dental fillings
- Composite filling with tooth-colored resin is currently the most popular dental filling method. This is because the resin material closely matches the color of natural teeth, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
- Amalgam filling is less popular nowadays. The amalgam material has a silver color that looks unnatural and less attractive. Additionally, amalgam contains mercury as one of its components.
